For the Tempe Firefighters, our work in the community doesn’t end when the fire has been put out or the accident has cleared. We take pride in protecting and providing for the families who live the neighborhoods we serve – and beyond.
In the past 10 years, the Tempe Firefighters, together with our fellow United Phoenix Firefighters chapters, have raised more than $10 million for a host of community causes. Last year, we played in role in raising more than $750,000 — funds that were distributed to nearly 50 causes all over the Valley.
Among the causes supported by the Tempe union:
- TIE- Tempe Impact Education Foundation• MDA- Muscular Dystrophy Association
- Fill the Boot
- Lock up

We’re committed to not only keeping Tempe safe, but also to making this city a better place for all who live, work, study and visit here. Our members annually volunteer thousands of hours for a host of causes like Arizona Burn Foundation and we care for residents in their homes, voluntarily putting up pool safety fences and replacing faulty smoke detectors. No matter the cause, Tempe’s firefighters are proud to respond wherever we’re needed.
Through our involvement in these charitable causes, we believe we’re leaving a legacy of service and pride for future generations of fire fighters. If you want to get involved with the Tempe Firefighters charity work, please contact Rich Woerth, President of the Tempe local, at 602.432.3356.
